Léon Moreaux (born March 10, 1852 in Féron , † November 11, 1921 in Rennes ) was a French marksman and double Olympic champion. He learned the sport in the 1880s and improved steadily, so that in 1900 he was entered for the Summer Olympics in Paris , the capital of his home country. He competed in numerous competitions and won two silver and one bronze medal.

At the subsequent Olympic Games in St. Louis no shooting competitions were held, so the athletes had to take a break. It was not until two years later, at the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , that the sport was included again in the program. Moreaux experienced his career high point at these games and was able to win two gold medals, one silver and two bronze medals, which made him one of the outstanding athletes of the tournament.

Following the 1908 Summer Olympics in London , where he was only able to place fourth in the team competition with the rapid-fire pistol as the best place, Léon Moreaux ended his active career at the age of 56. With eight medals won, he is still one of the ten most successful sport shooters at the Olympic Games.
