The Lion River (Guruchab) is a 250 km long river in southern Namibia , it flows into the Fish River . The Lion River has its source in the Karas Mountains about 70 kilometers south of Keetmanshoop , and is dammed by the Naute Dam in front of its mouth . The Lion River thus forms the main water supply for the town of Keetmanshoop and the center of the Naute recreational area .
