Lüddecke & Co was a forwarding company in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt . The former headquarters of the company is a listed building .

location

The preserved building is located on the south side of Sülzeberg street in the Buckau district of Magdeburg , west of the Elbe , near the Sülze port .

Architecture and history

The shipping company's office building was built in 1894/96, together with an adjoining warehouse. To the north towards the street, the office was built as a two-storey, nine-axis brick building over a basement . The outer right axis is designed as risalit with a gable crowned sides . The warehouse, which extends to the south on the back of the office, has ramps on both sides , through which goods can be handled by road and rail.

The building is currently in urgent need of renovation (as of 2019).

In the local register of monuments , the camp is listed as a monument under registration number 094 71196 .

The building complex is considered to be the last remaining element of the former Sülzebahnhof . As a typical example of a freight forwarding facility during the construction period, it is seen as significant for the architectural and economic history of the region.
