Lütfullah Kayalar (* 1952 in Akdağmadeni , Yozgat Province ) is a Turkish lawyer and politician.

Life

Kayalar studied law at Ankara Üniversitesi and then worked as a lawyer in Yozgat and Ankara. In 1983 he became a member of the Anavatan Partisi (ANAP) and was elected to the Turkish National Assembly for the Yozgat Province . In the cabinets of Turgut Özal and Yıldırım Akbulut , Lütfullah Kayalar was Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Affairs between 1989 and 1991 and Minister of Finance in Mesut Yılmaz's cabinet in 1996.

At the ANAP congress on August 5, 2001 in Ankara, Kayalar applied for the chairmanship of his party, but was defeated in the vote against Mesut Yılmaz.

Kayalar sat in the National Assembly until 2002. Before the parliamentary elections in 2007 , the Demokrat Parti and the ANAP wanted to join forces and compete together, but the alliance failed shortly before the deadline. Kayalar then left his party and joined the Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi (CHP) at the invitation of party chairman Deniz Baykal .

In 2015 Kayalar ran as an independent candidate in the constituency of Yozgat, but missed the election with 11.47%.

Kayalar is married and has two children.
