Lithographed postcard by Fritz Thörner , Hannovera-Verlag, around 1904

“ I was born in the Rösehof , the son of a poor servant ,
I was chosen to joke, I was able to do that as a boy.
And so we want, we want, we want to take one, take one, take one,
and so we want, do we, do we want to take one, take one, take one,
and now bring me a Lüttje Lage .

As a youth I moved into the distance to look for my
earthly happiness there , I would have liked to have found it, but I return empty of joy.
And so we want, we want, we want to take one ...

I didn't really like it in the foreign lands;
I didn't understand one thing: 'The Lüttje Lage no longer existed'.
And so we want, we want, we want to take one ...

As long as I still walk on earth, it will always be my drink,
even if you all are unfaithful, I, my honor, don't remember!
And so we want, we want, we want to take one ... The

power and horror of death
grabs me , give me a Lüttje Lage, let me see the Rösehof, otherwise I want to see the world nothing more.
And so we want, we want, we want to take one ... "
