The LG Sieg (Leichtathletik-Gemeinschaft Sieg) is an athletics club in the Altenkirchen district (Westerwald) .

The first nationally known athlete was Hans-Jürgen Orthmann , who competed for LG Sieg from 1971 to 1976 and became German champion in the 5000 meter run in 1974.

In 1993 Birgit Jerschabek won the German half marathon and marathon championships, and Birgit Jerschabek, Manuela Veith and Hildegard Mockenhaupt won the team classification in the half marathon . Jerschabek, H. Mockenhaupt and Matheis won another team title in the marathon. Jerschabek started for LG Sieg from 1991 to 1993, Veith only in 1993. Hildegard Mockenhaupt remained connected to the club and also brought her daughter to the club. Sabrina Mockenhaupt started until 2005 and from 2011 to 2016 for LG Sieg; the multiple German champion and Olympic participant from 2004 and 2012 is the most successful athlete at LG Sieg. In 2005 and 2006 Verena Dreier won two German championship titles in the obstacle course, she was the leading athlete of the club from 2006 to 2010.

The LG Sieg was created in 1971 through the merger of the athletics departments of various clubs, including VfB Wissen and VfL Hamm / Sieg . The member associations in 2012 include: ASG Altenkirchen, DJK Betzdorf, TSG Biersdorf, Spfr. Daaden, TV Daaden, DJK Herdorf, VfL Kirchen, SG Westerwald and VfB Wissen.
