The Luftsportgemeinschaft Waterkant-Zetel e. V. is a glider club with around 70 members, based on the glider airfield in Bohlenbergerfeld near the town of Zetel in the Lower Saxony district of Friesland .

Aircraft park

The LSG currently owns six gliders of its own and a Samburo , a motor glider that is built less than five kilometers away in Marx ( Wittmund district ).

In addition to the club's planes, the LSG also hosts several private planes owned by club members on the glider airfield. When the weather is nice, when visiting the square, for example, you often come across Ventus 2 , LS1-f , JS1 Revelation , Arcus M or a private LS4 .

In addition, the manufacturer of the Samburo tests every new Samburo at the nearby airfield in Bohlenbergerfeld before it is delivered to the customer.

education

LSG Waterkant carries out training to become a glider pilot ( SPL / LAPL ) including the license extensions contained therein, e.g. B. aerobatics and TMG . The student pilots are prepared for their first solo flight with the two plastic ASK 21 double-seaters . Then the training with the Astir CS, the Ka6 CR and the LS4 is continued or completed.
