Karl Kisslinger

Karl Kisslinger , also Kißlinger , (born March 4, 1926 in Altenkirchen ; † December 22, 2008 ) was a German teacher and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Kisslinger came from a family of teachers. After attending the humanistic grammar school in Landshut , where he passed his military diploma, he did Reich labor service from 1943 to 1945 and took part in the Second World War as a soldier . Most recently he was captured by the United States.

After his release from captivity, Kisslinger completed a teacher training course. In 1948 he passed the examination for teaching at elementary schools, and in 1958 the examination for teaching at secondary schools. He worked as a primary school teacher in Mitterfirmiansreut and from 1972 worked as director at the secondary school in Grafenau , which he headed until 1983. He was a member of the Education and Science Union (GEW) and the Workers' Welfare Association .

Kisslinger joined the SPD in 1956. He was a board member of the local association of the SPD in Schlag as well as of the district association of the SPD Freyung-Grafenau and chairman of the SPD sub-district Deggendorf. In terms of local politics, he acted as a district councilor in the Freyung-Grafenau district .

Kisslinger was a member of the Bundestag from 1983 to 1990 . In the federal elections in 1983 and 1987 he was elected to parliament via the Bavarian state list. In both legislative terms he was a member of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry; from 1987 he was also a member of the Committee for Economic Cooperation.

In 1965, the municipality gave him Philippsreut the honorary citizenship .
