Lumo (Lumo = Wolof , Lume = Mandinka and Fulfulde ) is the name for weekly markets that take place in villages and small towns in West African countries (including the Gambia , Senegal and Guinea-Bissau ). The most popular are the Gambian Lumo in Farafenni , Wassu and places near the town of Basse Santa Su .

Lumo always take place on a fixed weekday. The dealers often come from remote regions as well as from neighboring countries.
