The LVF - Virgilio and Cavalieri were steam locomotives of the Lombard-Venetian Ferdinand Railway (LVF).

The machines were supplied by the Meyer locomotive factory in Mulhouse in 1844 . The very large drive wheels were striking. The two locomotives DANTE and PIETRO VERRI came from the same delivery , but they had different technical data (e.g. even larger drive wheels).

At LVF, the machines discussed here were given the names VIRGILIO and CAVALIERI .

When the LVF was nationalized in 1852, they came under the same names to the Lombard-Venetian State Railways (LVStB).
