Mette Mestad (born November 19, 1958 ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Mestad was part of the very successful Norwegian team in the early years of women's biathlon. In the 1983/84 season Mestad won the overall World Cup as the second Norwegian after her teammate Gry Østvik the previous season . In contrast to other Norwegian biathletes of that time, Mestad was not very successful at world championships and could not achieve either an individual or a relay medal there.

In addition to the overall World Cup victory, Mestad was able to celebrate its greatest successes at national level. In total, she was Norwegian champion twelve times between 1979 and 1985. She was successful five times in a row in the relay race, four times in the individual and three times in the sprint. Mestad was most successful at the 1980 championships in Austmarka , where she was victorious in all three disciplines.
