The LVL Jäger GmbH (2016: Ludwigsburg Lines travel agency Jäger GmbH ) is the operator of the city bus routes in the district town of Ludwigsburg . The company also maintains urban transport services in Kornwestheim and Asperg as well as several regional lines.

history

The Ludwigsburg transport lines were founded in the spring of 1926, they were the direct successors of the Ludwigsburg overhead line railways , which were discontinued at the same time . At that time, the first three LVL lines from Ludwigsburg to Aldingen (via Oßweil and Neckargröningen ), to Hoheneck and Eglosheim went into operation. The line to Hoheneck replaced the overhead lines seamlessly. The line to Aldingen was also a successor line to the overhead line railways, but this branch line was discontinued in 1923. Oßweil, Neckargröningen and Aldingen had previously had no transport connection to Ludwigsburg for three years.

After the Second World War , traffic was resumed in 1945, with Ludwigsburg city traffic being split into three companies. A line swap between the companies resulted in a new Ludwigsburg city transport with LVL lines to Eglosheim , Oßweil, Weststadt, Oststadt, Grünbühl and Hoheneck in September 1956 . In 1957 the regular service to the residential area Schlößlesfeld was started, in 1958 the regular service to Pflugfelden was taken over. In 1964 city traffic was established within Aspergs. In 1967 the traffic between Ludwigsburg and Asperg was started as a separate line.

In 1973, after the opening of the Breuningerland shopping center, a new regular schedule was introduced. In 1982 the lines were integrated into the VVS network level 2 by applying transition tariffs in the season ticket area. In 1987 the new central bus station in Ludwigsburg was inaugurated and the regular service was reorganized. Since 1993, all lines have been included in the VVS collective tariff. LVL Jäger sold the travel business to Schlienz-Tours in 2015 .

Vehicle fleet

The fleet for regular services consists exclusively of low-floor buses from the MAN and Mercedes-Benz brands . The vehicles are painted white except for the dark blue front. The destination and important stops are shown on modern LED displays. In addition, ten Solaris Urbino 12 Hybrid with Euro 6 drive were delivered in 2014. In 2016 further buses with Euro 6 engines of the MAN Lion's City type were purchased. Since 2020, 50 new MAN New Lion's City Efficient Hybrid buses have been running on all lines, alternating with older models.

Lines

After the bus lines were standardized throughout the VVS, the LVL lines were given numbers in the 400 range instead of letters. The LVL operates a total of 20 day lines and five night lines, which run from Friday to Saturday, Saturday to Sunday and on the nights before public holidays and largely follow the S-Bahn routes.
