The Schlienz-Tours GmbH & Co. KG , based in Kernen -Rommelshausen is as a private bus companies in line , casual and travel , as well as tour operators and travel agents operate. The company emerged from the Omnibus Schlienz travel agency GmbH & Co. KG , which until 2011 also included the Esslingen -Wäldenbronn operating part, but which was then spun off into the independent Schlienz Omnibus GmbH & Co. KG .

history

The company was founded in 1932 as Fischle & Schlienz by bus drivers Christian Schlienz and Ernst Fischle, who had become unemployed due to the global economic crisis . They resumed driving on the bus routes of their former employer in trucks and military buses.

After Schlienz's death in 1953, his wife and son took over the company. Ernst Fischle left the company and founded his own bus company, which still exists in Esslingen today. While Fischle's company initially limited itself to regular services in Esslingen, the Schlienz company also opened up the surrounding area with bus routes and was also active in bus travel.

In 1971 Schlienz took over the Wörner bus company in Stetten in the Remstal valley. On July 1, 1974, the company Omnibus Dannenmann in Aichwald-Schanbach (not to be confused with Omnibus Dannenmann from Weinstadt-Beutelsbach) by the companies Fischle and Schlienz followed. Line 113 went to Schlienz, while Fischle took over line 114. The vehicles were each divided. In 1981 Schlienz moved into a new depot in Rommelshausen. In addition to Esslingen, travel agencies were also set up in Plochingen, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt and Geislingen / Steige.

In 2010 the company employed around 100 people and transported around 4.5 million people annually in 56 buses.

In 2010, the joint owners of the family business decided to split up the business. The headquarters in Esslingen-Wäldenbronn was spun off into Schlienz Omnibus GmbH & Co. KG , while the Kernen-Rommelshausen location was transferred to Schlienz-Tours GmbH & Co. KG . To differentiate the two bus companies with the same name, Schlienz-Tours chose a new look in black, while Schlienz Omnibus stayed in the usual green. Schlienz Omnibus ceased operations on November 30, 2019.

Schlienz Touristik GmbH , based in Esslingen, also belongs to Schlienz-Tours . It currently operates TUI travel agencies in Esslingen, Geislingen / Steige , Ludwigsburg ( taken over by LVL Jäger in 2015 ), Nürtingen , Plochingen and Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen .

In the course of 2014, Schlienz-Tours took over Gerhard Ruffner Omnibusverkehr in Ostfildern - Kemnat , which will continue to be run as the subsidiary GR Omnibus GmbH (GRO). Ruffner was a long-term subcontractor of the Stuttgart trams (SSB) on bus routes 64 (Stelle - Frauenkopf ), 66 ( Sillenbuch round trip) and 71 (Hoffeld - Schönberg ) as well as the END on bus route 131 (Esslingen - Kemnat). In the tender for line bundle 4 in the Esslingen district, GR Omnibus was awarded the contract and has been operating the former END bus routes 119, 120, 121, 122, 130 and 131 under the FilderExpress brand, which runs between Esslingen, Ostfildern, Denkendorf and Neuhausen since January 1, 2016 , which was popularly the name for the former Esslingen – Nellingen – Denkendorf tram . Lines 64 and 66 advertised by the SSB have also been served by GR Omnibus since December 9, 2018.

With the timetable change in December 2016, Schlienz-Tours started operating the three express bus routes X10 (Kirchheim / Teck – airport), X20 (Waiblingen – Esslingen) and X60 (Leonberg – airport) on behalf of the Stuttgart Region Association under the Relex brand To complement the S-Bahn network .

Since December 2018, line 73 ( Degerloch- Neuhausen) has been fully served by Schlienz-Tours on behalf of SSB. From 2001-2018 inverted Schlienz on individual courses of the SSB-lines 70 (Degerloch-Hoffeld-Plieningen), 73, 74 (Degerloch- Bernshausen - Nürtingen ), 76 (Degerloch-Bernhausen- Echterdingen ) and 77 (Degerloch-Echterdingen- Harthausen ) . SSB bus route 32 (Echterdingen – Harthausen), which was added to route 77 in 2001, had already been served from the Rommelshausen depot.

After the award of line bundle 3 in the Esslingen district to Schlienz-Tours, the company has been operating on lines 106, 107, 114, 114A and N14 between Neckar Valley and Schurwald since January 1, 2019 . In the case of line bundle 7 of the Esslingen district, Schlienz-Tours and Bader-Reisen were awarded jointly. This bundle, which will also start operating on January 1, 2019, includes city traffic in Kirchheim unter Teck and Wernau with lines 145, 146, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165 and 168.

In addition, Schlienz-Tours was awarded the contract for line bundle 1 in the Rems-Murr district from August 1, 2019. In addition to the previous Schlienz main lines 211, 212 and 219 (formerly 116) as well as the one previously operated by Schlienz-Tours on behalf of the SSB Fellbach city bus line 215 (formerly 67) was added to the lines 210 (Rommelshausen – Remspark – Fellbach) and 214 (Fellbach – Neckargröningen).

Another important mainstay of the company is the transportation of disabled people. Schlienz Tours also offers a shuttle service. The entire fleet consists of about 90 Stadtlinien- and coaches of the brands Mercedes-Benz and Setra and around 100 small / micro-buses and cars (May 2017).
