La Lupa
La Lupa bourgeois Maryli Maura Herz-Marconi (born February 9, 1947 ) is a Swiss singer .
Life
She was born in the Onsernone Valley in the canton of Ticino . She got the name La Lupa as a teenager and kept it as a stage name. As a 20-year-old she went to Zurich, where she stayed.
She is married and lives in Zurich .
Projects
Lamenti
In 1989 La Lupa began singing lamenti (lamentations) from St. Peter's Tower in Zurich. Later she moved to the Grossmünster , as there was no longer any interest in her performances in St. Peter.
She sang these plague songs in Venice to commemorate death in the days leading up to Good Friday . It is unclear whether these lamenti were actually a custom in Italy in the past .
«Fortuna»
Another of her projects is called Che Fortuna Essere Felici (' How lucky to be happy'). In it, La Lupa dealt with various forms of happiness. The texts are often performed in Italian and summarized in German, and some are also sung. Her voice is accompanied by a saxophone .
La Lupa's own definition of happiness is: « Happiness is when the struggle for life turns into a dance of life. »
Appearances (selection)
She made a USA tour in 1993, where she appeared in New York and Washington, and she also had three other appearances in Europe in Birmingham, Stockholm and in Italienska (?) Kulturinstitutet. In the summers from 1981 to 1986 she performed in the Rietbergpark in Zurich with an instrumental ensemble, music by F. Frölich, H. Fritz, M. Giovanoli, W. Giger, U. Senn. This was organized by the presidential department of the city of Zurich. In 1992 she appeared in Seville at EXPO´92. She had two guest appearances in Nepal in 1997 and 2000.
