Milli Becker (* 1943 in Königshütte , Silesia; † 2008 in Kiel ), born Marlies Schernickau, was also known as Milli Büttner, La Milli, Milli Molton as a painter, costume designer and especially as an actress in films by Elfi Mikesch , Rosa von Praunheim and Frank Ripploh .

Career

Milli Schernickau grew up in Berlin and studied applied painting at the Hochschule der Künste, HDK Berlin with Hermann Bachmann . At the same time she studied dance at the Mary Wigman Studio in Berlin. At an exhibition by the painter Fritz Mikesch, she met the photographer and later filmmaker Elfi Mikesch and through her also the activist Rosa von Praunheim. Elfi Mikesch's first film, The Mask of the Red Death, based on Edgar Allen Poe , has already been made with Milli Büttner, who is listed as La Milli . She set up and starred in the film later known as Charisma . She made a living from portrait painting and, together with Elfi Mikesch, did costume and textile design for film and theater, set up and worked on the films of Praunheim, Mikesch and Ripploh. For the film Execution - a study of Mary, where she appeared as Maria Stuart and Magdalena Montezuma as Queen Elisabeth , the filmmaker Elfi Mikesch received the Federal Film Prize for Short Film in Gold in 1979 .

Her last available works are puppets for Becker's small world theater , a puppet theater in Kiel, together with her last husband the pastor Reinhold Becker (born July 20, 1932 - May 4, 2012). According to a text by Rainer Noll, they celebrated artistic success with this project. Reinhold Becker made the dolls himself, which Milli Becker equipped and designed. Today they are in the Lübeck Theater Figure Museum - as is the large stage with the mechanisms and special effects devised by the Beckers.

She has two children Raffael Ackermann and Roman Büttner and was married to Martin Büttner, a technical teacher at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, who is also the father of her second son.
