La Naissance D'Un Rêve is the second album by Lacrimas Profundere . It was released in 1997 by Witchhunt Records and was recorded by Zinnkopf Audio in Siegsdorf . The title is French and means "The Birth of a Dream".

Music genre

The album combines various types of metal such as Doom, Death and Gothic Metal. The vocals are mainly in the typical Death Metal "growl" style. But there are also some “clean” passages sung by the singer Anja Hötzendorfer in soprano voice . The instrumentation, which includes the typical rock instruments as well as the violin and flute, is rather unusual for the time.

Re-releases

The album was re-released three times:

  • 2002 in Korea by Sail Productions with 2 bonus tracks
  • 2002 in Mexico by Scarecrow Records as part of the double album The Fallen Years with a bonus track
  • 2003 in Russia by Irond Ltd. with a bonus track

Four of the six songs on the original release were cut by several minutes on all re-releases.

Reception and chart successes
