La Razón is a Spanish conservative daily newspaper. It is published in Madrid and has an average daily circulation of 149,559 copies, making it the fifth largest Spanish daily after El País , El Mundo , ABC and La Vanguardia .

La Razón is part of the Grupo Planeta media group . The newspaper has regional offices in Catalonia , Valencia , Castile-León , Murcia and Andalusia and appears in regional editions in Madrid , Valencia and Seville .
La Razón was founded in 1998 by the Spanish writer and journalist Luis María Ansón, after having been director of the daily ABC for over 15 years . In 2015, the newspaper came under international criticism after it presented a turbulent Canadian Sikh , whose photo-manipulated selfie was circulating on the Internet, unchecked on its front page as one of the terrorists of the terrorist attacks on November 13, 2015 in Paris .
