Labortzer Bergland
The Laborecká vrchovina (literally: Labortzer Bergland ) describes a mountain range in northeast Slovakia . It represents part of the Lower Beskids within the Carpathian Mountains and consists of flysch rock . It borders the Bukovské vrchy in the east, Beskydské predhorie in the south and Ondavská vrchovina in the west and the Polish border in the north.
The ridges usually reach a height of 500 700 m nm , in the East up to 800 meters. The highest point is Vysoký grúň with 905 meters.
The mountainous region is drained by the Laborec river , which gives it its name and flows through the middle of the mountainous region. Some parts in the west, however, belong to the catchment area of the Ondava .
A Russian minority still lives in the mountainous region today . The only town in the mountains is Medzilaborce .
