Lac Champdoré is located in central Labrador 125 km northeast of Schefferville . It is located in the area of the Canadian Shield at an altitude of 437 m . It has a length of 28 km and a width of 9 km. The lake area is 165 km².
The lake was named after Pierre Angibault (also known as Champdoré ), a ship's captain and companion of the explorer Samuel de Champlain .
