The Lac Surprise is a lake in the regional county municipality Jamesie in the southwest of the Canadian province of Quebec .
The 55 km² large lake is 45 km south of Chapais . It is traversed by the Rivière Roy , a left tributary of the Rivière Opawica , in a northerly direction. The water of Lac Surprise flows over several rapids to Lac Caopatina in the north .
The lake officially bears his name since 1935. Surprise is the French word for "surprise". More than 20 other lakes in Quebec have the same name.
