The Lac de Bonlieu is a lake in the French Jura , in the Jura department , around 25 km east-southeast of Lons-le-Saunier in Franche-Comté . It is located at 791 m above sea level. M. on the soil of the municipality of Bonlieu and occupies an area of around 17 hectares. The lake is 725 m long and a maximum of 300 m wide. Its greatest depth is 13 m.
The Lac de Bonlieu is flanked in the south and east by wooded, partly rocky ridges of the High Jura ( Forêt de la Chaux du Dombief ), which up to 1000 m above sea level. M. increase. It has steep banks on this side, while the western and northern bank areas are relatively flat and partially bordered by a swamp belt. The Lac de Bonlieu is fed by the rainwater flowing down from the surrounding slopes and probably by sublacustrian springs. The lake is drained to the north and belongs to the catchment area of the Hérisson , a left tributary of the Ain .
