Ladins Dolomites

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ladins Dolomites (LD) is the name of a small Italian party in South Tyrol .

Career

Its origins come from the Ladin movement , founded in 1993 , which was an attempt to build a collecting party for the Ladin minority . In its founding year, the movement was able to win a seat in the South Tyrolean parliament with Carlo Willeit . In the following years it was also able to record successes at the municipal level. The movement was later renamed Moviment Politich Ladins .

In the state elections in 1998 Willeit ran on a joint list with the Democratic Party of South Tyrol and was able to win another seat. In 2003, however, the Ladins failed with only 1.4% of the vote.

In 2004 the movement reorganized and turned into a party. In 2008 the party got its current name. In 2013 the Ladins Dolomites formed an alliance with the parties BürgerUnion and Wir Südtiroler , through which MP Andreas Pöder (BürgerUnion) was able to move into the state parliament. In March 2014, however, Pöder resigned the alliance.
