Ladnitz (desert)

Ladnitz is a deserted village in the district of the hamlet Gröben the community Schlöben in Saale-Holzland in Thuringia .

history

The deserted area of Ladnitz lies on the western slope of the Podelsatz water storage basin . It was probably the outer bailey area of the Ladnitz moated castle , which was excavated during the construction of the small reservoir . It was a small low castle . The castle moth and the associated buildings of the satellite village were created in the 12th century. The complex is known in documents from 1216. In the 14th century the complex lost its function as a noble residence and was used as an outbuilding . It was estimated that the settlement was a Slavic foundation.
