Ladyhawke (* 1979 in Masterton , New Zealand ), real name Phillipa Brown and nickname Pip Brown , is a New Zealand musician. She became known mainly through her songs Paris Is Burning and My Delirium . Your stage name comes from the film Der Tag des Falken , whose original title is Ladyhawke .

Life

Ladyhawke has Asperger's Syndrome . Her mother is a singer , her stepfather a jazz drummer . She started making music at the age of eleven. She joined the brass band in her town, of which her stepfather was leader, as a percussionist .

After graduating from school, she moved to Wellington . With a friend she formed the band Two Lane Blacktop . She later played with Nick Littlemore in the band Teenager . Today she masters more than ten instruments.

The 2012 single Black White & Blue was used as the soundtrack for the soccer game FIFA 13 .

Ladyhawke is married to Madeleine Sami. They had their first child in September 2017.
