Laenly Phoutthavong

Laenly Phoutthavong (born June 4, 1996 in Vientiane ) is a Lao athlete . At a height of 1.69 m, her competition weight is 55 kg. She is the Laotian record holder in the long jump and triple jump .

In the 100-meter run she took part in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London , where she did not get past the first qualifying run with 13.15 s. At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , she improved her Olympic time and her personal best to 12.82 s, which was also not enough for one of the qualifying places in the run-up.

At the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw , she participated in the long jump and triple jump . In the long jump she reached eighth place with 5.41 m and sixth in the triple jump with 12.18 m. At the Asian Games in Incheon in 2014 , Laenly Phoutthavong took 14th place in the triple jump with 12.26 m. At the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore, she was ninth with 5.57 m in the long jump and sixth with 12.27 m in the triple jump. At the Singapore Open 2015 she finished second in the triple jump with 12.53 m. At the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur , she was seventh with 12.36 m in the triple jump and eighth with 5.75 m in the long jump.

Records

Her 5.41 m long jump at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games was a new Lao record. The old record came from 1990, when Mala Sakonhninhom jumped 5.22 m at the Asian Games in Beijing . Another new national record was Laenly Phoutthavong's 12.18 m triple jump a day later. The old record came from Philaylack Sackpraseuth in 2005 with 11.18 m. Laenly Phoutthavong improved her national record in the triple jump to 12.26 m at the 2014 Asian Games and to 12.77 m in September 2014 in Vientiane. She further improved her long jump record to 5.69 m at the Singapore Open 2015, with which she finished fifth there. At the Southeast Asian Games in 2017, she improved the Lao national record in the long jump to 5.75 m.
