Lagarrigue Cove

The Lagarrigue Cove ( Spanish Puerto Marinero Lagarrigue ), also known as Selvick Cove is a bay on the Danco Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located south of Spigot Peak on the Errera Canal .

The bay was given its name in 1956 at the suggestion of the Argentine Navy in memory of the ship's chef Adrián Lagarrigue, who died on March 8, 1949 when he fell into a crevasse not far from Orne Harbor . This name replaced the provisional name as Puerto Lote (Spanish for lottery port ). Alternatively, the bay is named after the Norwegian whaling ship Selvick (or Selvik ), which sank in January 1911 in the Gerlache Strait .
