The Laggan is a river on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . It rises on the slopes of the 429 m high Sgorr nam Faoileann in the east of the island. From there it meanders for 20 km in a south-westerly direction. It flows about 5.5 km south-southwest of the island's capital Bowmore into the bay Laggan Bay , a side bay of Loch Indaal .

There are no major settlements along the Laggan. However, remains of a historical settlement have been found in the area of ​​the mouth. A church dedicated to Saint Columban was once located nearby .
