Sgorr nam Faoileann is a mountain on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . The 429 m high elevation is located near the east coast of the island about three kilometers northwest of Cape McArthur's Head and nine kilometers south of the ferry terminal Port Askaig . Within eight kilometers there are five other mountains with Beinn na Caillich , Glas Bheinn , Beinn Bheigeir , Beinn Bhàn and Beinn Uraraidh . The springs of the Laggan River are on the slopes of Sgorr nam Faoileann .

Sgorr nam Faoileann is located in a sparsely populated part of the island, which is why there are no roads leading to the mountain. However, hiking routes to the mountain are described that also include the surrounding peaks. From the summit there is a panorama over the Islay Sound to Cape Ruvaal in the north of the island and the northern neighboring island of Colonsay , the southwest coast of the neighboring island of Jura , parts of Loch Indaal and the Rhinns of Islay and the Kintyre peninsula .
