Dino Reisner

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dino Reisner (* 1971 in Bayreuth ) is a German author and journalist .

He wrote biographies about the basketball player Dirk Nowitzki and the soccer players Michael Ballack and Pep Guardiola , the chronicle of 40 years of the basketball Bundesliga and reported on 14 ice hockey world championships (1994 to 2010), the Olympic Winter Games in 2002 and 2006 and the soccer world championship in 2006 .

Life

Reisner grew up in Bayreuth in Upper Franconia. During his school days and subsequent studies in Bamberg and Berlin, he gained his first journalistic experience at the North Bavarian Courier . After completing his studies, he took over the sports editing of the regional Bavaria edition of the daily newspaper Die Welt in Munich. He then went freelance as a journalist and book author and worked, among other things, for the sports editorial team of Bild , the German Press Agency (dpa) , Nordbayerischer Kurier , Kicker-Sportmagazin and the TV broadcaster Sky . In September 2014, he moved to the Bundesliga basketball team Mitteldeutscher BC as Head of Communication , for whom he worked until 2016.

Investigative journalism in ice hockey

In September 2003, Reisner uncovered the fraud surrounding the eligibility of the Freiburg ice hockey professionals Peter Mares and Michael Vašíček through investigative reports in the daily newspaper Die Welt and the specialist journal Eishockey News . The club had not registered the two Czechs when applying for the license documents for the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) within the twelve-player quota of foreigners. The DEL reacted and withdrew both professionals the right to play outside of the foreign contingent.

Controversy over the 2004 Ice Hockey World Championship

After the men's ice hockey world championship in Prague in 2004 , in which the German national team finished ninth, Reisner caused a scandal when the then national coach Hans Zach felt massively attacked by his reporting and declared his resignation with the following words: “I I don't need to be accused by any specialized journalists that my system is wrong or that my dual function as national trainer and trainer of the Kölner Haie is harmful. "

Ghostwriter

In addition to his own books, Reisner also took on the role of a ghostwriter several times . After the handball player Erhard Wunderlich became aware of Reisner after his advice "Handball - made understandable" , he hired him in the summer of 2006 as one of several ghostwriters for his work "Handball - The World of a Fascinating Sport" . In addition, Reisner was the author of the guide "Figure skating made understandable" by figure skater Stefan Lindemann and "Bobsleigh: Formula 1 in the ice channel" by bobsleigh athlete Christoph Langen .
