Apetzko Deyn von Frankenstein (also Apeczko Deyn von Frankenstein ; † April 13, 1352 in Breslau ) was Bishop of Lebus from 1345 to 1352 .

Life

Apetzko (also Apeczko or Arbogast ) von Frankenstein came from a middle class family in Breslau. His father Deyn is said to have been a German colonist from Frankenstein who moved his residence to Breslau, where he became a city councilor. Presumably Apetzko studied at the University of Bologna , where he obtained a Dr. decretorum acquired. He was first mentioned in 1326 as Breslau Consistorial Councilor . From 1334 to 1339 he was canon and then until 1344 cathedral cholaster and at times also official in Breslau. He received further benefices in 1339 as a scholastic in Lebus, and he was also a canon in Meißen . After the death of Bishop Nanker in 1341 he was one of the Breslau diocese administrators .

On October 19, 1345 he was appointed Bishop of Lebus by the Pope and consecrated in Rome. In 1347 he took part in the coronation of Charles IV as King of Bohemia . He donated a theology department at the Breslau Cathedral to the diocese of Breslau . He dedicated his valuable book collection to the cathedral chapter there . He died on April 13, 1352 and was buried in the Breslau Cathedral.
