Glas Bheinn is the second highest mountain on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . The 472 m high elevation is located near the east coast of the island about three kilometers west of Cape McArthur's Head and ten kilometers south of the ferry terminal Port Askaig . With Beinn na Caillich , Sgorr nam Faoileann , Beinn Bheigeir , Beinn Bhàn and Beinn Uraraidh there are five other mountains within a radius of six kilometers . Loch Allallaidh , from which one of the source rivers of the Laggan flows, lies between Glas Bheinn and the neighboring Beinn Bheigir .

Glas Bheinn is located in a sparsely populated part of the island, which is why no roads lead to the mountain. However, hiking routes to the mountain are described that also include the surrounding peaks. From the summit there is a panorama over the surrounding peaks, the Islay Sound with the southwest coast of the neighboring island of Jura and the Proaig Bay .
