Laggard Iceland ( English for Nachzüglerinsel is) a rocky island in the Palmer Archipelago in front of the west of the Antarctic Peninsula . Off the southwest coast of Anvers Island , it is 3 km southeast of Bonaparte Point .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey surveyed the island in 1955. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them in 1957 after their geographical location at the eastern end of the islands around Arthur Harbor .
