The Laguna Chilota ( Spanish ) is a lagoon in the extreme southwest of Port Foster of Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands .
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) mapped it on January 22, 1947. They named it after a local name for residents of the Chilean island of Chiloé .
