Laird Sloan
Laird de Lacey Sloan (born October 3, 1935 in Québec , † June 23, 2017 ) was a Canadian sprinter .
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he reached the semifinals over 440 yards and won silver with the Canadian 4-by-440-yard relay.
In 1956 he retired at the Olympic Games in Melbourne over 400 m in the run and came in the 4-by-400-meter relay with the Canadian team in fifth place.
In 1957 he was Canadian champion over 220 yards and 440 yards. In 1954 he set his personal best over the latter distance of 48.5 s (corresponds to 48.2 s over 400 m).
