It was founded in 1922 by Mirza Baschir ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad at the suggestion of his wife in India as an important step towards the emancipation of Muslims. The Lajna Imaillah is represented in Germany with about 10,000 women and was established in 1975. Its members are called Lajna .

motto

activities

Internally, the Lajna Imaillah is committed to the education and organization of women and girls, whereby the girls, the Nasratul Ahmadiyya (between 7 and 14 years of age), receive religious instruction and go on excursions or trips abroad.

Lajna Imaillah also donates funds to build schools and hospitals, especially in Africa.

The Lajnas give lectures in schools, universities and other (including their own) events about Islam and work in all areas independently and on a voluntary basis.

In Germany, the Ahmadi women publish the magazine Nuur for women and contribute significantly to the work in the community's own television program Muslim Television Ahmadiyya ( MTA ).

Women's inn

On the initiative of the Ahmadi women, a women's inn with six residential units is being built on the grounds of the Nuur Mosque . It is intended to offer support to women in need in an “Islamic environment”. In addition, it should also be used “as a guest house, as a meeting point for excursions and sports”.

Mosque construction

With nationwide fundraising, Lajna Imaillah Germany has set itself the task of financing the construction of the Khadija Mosque in Berlin. In the twenties a corresponding plan had failed, so that the donations were finally used for the Fazl Mosque in London .

Ahmadiyya women also participate in the planning of the mosques. The Khadija mosque in Heinersdorf, for example, is being built according to the design by the architect Mubashra Ilyas, who has already worked on mosque designs in Stuhr near Bremen and Offenbach am Main .
