Lajos Papp (born April 8, 1944 in Debrecen , † October 31, 1993 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian sports shooter .
successes
Lajos Papp took part in three Olympic Games . 1968 he finished second in Mexico City in the competition with the Free Rifle Three Positions in tenth place, while he did not come with the small-bore rifle in the prone position on the 46th square. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich he only competed with the free rifle in the three-position fight, in which he scored 1149 points. With this number of points he finished third behind Lones Wigger and Borys Melnyk and thus won the bronze medal. He finished the 1976 Games in Montreal with the small bore rifle in the prone position in 20th place and in the three-position fight in 13th place. At world championships in Wiesbaden in 1966, Papp won the bronze medal in singles with the air rifle. In 1970 he became world champion in singles in Phoenix with the free rifle in the kneeling position and four years later secured another bronze medal in Thun with the team in the standing position with the small caliber.
