Lake Nunavaugaluk is a lake in southwest Alaska , 25 km northwest of Dillingham .
The 80.5 km² large lake is located at a height of 10 m in the south of the Wood River Mountains . The lake has a longitudinal extension in NNW-SSE direction of 22.5 km. The maximum sea width is 5.7 km. The Killian Creek flows into the northern end of the lake. The Snake River drains the lake at its southern end south to Nushagak Bay . About 10 km further north is Lake Aleknagik .
In summer, the lake and its tributaries are the target of a smaller population of sockeye salmon , which swims up the Snake River to their spawning grounds .
