The Lake Polanskogo ( English , also Lake Pol'anskogo , Russian Озеро Полянского Ozero Poljanskowo , German , Poljanskisee ' ) is a lake on the Knox Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It is located on the southwestern edge of the Bunger Hills between these and the Apple Glacier . There are a number of small islands in the lake.
Scientists from a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it and named it in 1956. It is named after Alexander Polyanski, a member of the team in the arctic drift of the icebreaker Georgi Sedov between 1937 and 1938. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated this name into English in 1991.
