The lake roesiger is a lake and a popular destination in Snohomish County in the North American State of Washington . It is located east of Everett and northeast of Seattle and Tacoma .
The lake was named after Richard Rösiger (1862-1946), who in 1882 from today to the country Brandenburg counted Saxon city outskirts on Schraden emigrated to America.
As the first white settler, he staked his claim in 1888 with a provisional permit from the Landvergabeamt Snohomish County on the lake . In hard pioneering work he made the land arable, which further farmers followed.
On June 16, 1891, Roesiger opened the “Ortrand Post Office, Washington” to commemorate his hometown, but it had to close again a year after it was opened due to lack of use. At this time, the lake, which was measured by surveyors and engineers in 1892, was given the name "Lake Roesiger" due to the merits of Roesiger.
In the town of Ortrand, where he was born, a memorial plaque on the house where he was born has been commemorating the emigrant since 2007. In addition, there has been a school partnership between the "Highschool Snohomish" in Snohomish and the Ortrander "Lingenthal-Oberschule" since 2007 .
