The Snohomish River is a river in the US state of Washington , which gets its name from the confluence of the Skykomish River and the Snoqualmie River near Monroe . It flows northwest until it flows into Port Gardner Bay , part of Puget Sound , between Everett and Marysville . The Pilchuck River is its largest tributary and flows into it at Snohomish . The Snohomish River drains the west side of the Cascade Range from Snoqualmie Pass to Stevens Pass in the north .
Measured at Monroe, the Snohomish River has a water volume of 270 m³. In comparison, the Columbia River, Washington's largest river, carries 7,500 m³ of water.
