Lakshan Kodikara (born May 16, 1999 ) is a Sri Lankan sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run and also competes in the 400-meter hurdles .

Athletic career

Lakshan Kodikara gained his first international experience at the Junior Asian Championships 2018 in Gifu , where he finished sixth in the hurdles and won the silver medal behind his compatriot Aruna Dharshana over the flat distance in 46.96 s . He also won the Sri Lankan 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 08.70 min. He qualified for the U20 World Championships in Tampere , Finland , in which the relay reached eighth place in the final. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time , where he finished fourth in the relay in 3: 02.74 min.
