The Lalung Glacier (or La Lung ) is located in the Western Himalayas in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh .
The 14 km long glacier is located in the southeast of the Nun-Kun group in the headwaters of the Suru , a left tributary of the Indus . It flows through the main Himalayan ridge in the south of the Ladakh region in the Kargil district in a northerly direction. A mountain ridge separates the Lalung Glacier from the Drang Drung Glacier, which runs further east . The outflow of the glacier flows about 8 km in an east-northeast direction before it meets the Suru 7 km west of the Pensi La mountain pass.
The 6175 m high Z2 rises west of the Lalung Glacier.
