Lambertusstrasse 6 (Düsseldorf)
The listed residential building with business premises at Lambertusstrasse 6 in Düsseldorf was built in 1882 according to a design by the architect A. Degen. The facade was designed by Otto van Els and Bruno Schmitz in the historicist neo -baroque style.
description
The building is three-story and eaves. The middle part of the facade is designed as a risalit, the ground floor of which shows two arched windows. These are summarized by a basket arch, the apex of which shows a mask. A cornice separates the ground floor from the upper floor. At the upper floor level, the central projection gives the impression of a two-story loggia, which is flanked by pilasters on the first floor.
Art historical significance
The house has an architecturally elaborate facade, which is why the building was placed under monument protection:
"The house is one of the most high-quality historical buildings in the city."
history
Buchbinder Peter Guntermann founded his business in the Altestadt in October 1864 and built the houses at Lambertusstrasse 4 and 6 almost twenty years later. The “Framing Guntermann” shop with gilding has existed here ever since.
