The Lancair 200 is a single-engine, two-seat amateur construction - propeller aircraft produced by the American manufacturer Lancair International.
history
The Lancair 200 was introduced in 1985 by Lance Neibauer . Neibauer wanted to build a fast and economical touring aircraft for a crew of two adults. Furthermore, the machine should have good-natured flight characteristics. For the drive he used a Continental O-200 with an output of 100 PS (74 kW).

The Lancair 200 is a two - seater low - wing aircraft . The fuselage is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic . The aircraft is equipped with a retractable landing gear.

Incidents
- On September 4, 2010, the retractable landing gear could not be extended on the final approach . The pilot landed the plane on the grass next to the runway and was uninjured.
- On October 16, 2011, a 40-year-old pilot lost control of his aircraft ten minutes after take-off from Itzehoe airfield for an unexplained cause . The machine fell from a height of about 1,400 feet and hit the ground almost vertically. The two occupants were killed in the accident and the aircraft was completely destroyed.
