State calibration line on Ernst-Ruska-Ufer in Berlin

The state calibration route Berlin-Adlershof is a measuring device for the calibration of electro-optical distance measuring devices (EDM). It is located in a green area parallel to Ernst-Ruska-Ufer in Berlin-Adlershof .

background

EDMs should be calibrated before initial commissioning or after a repair in order to guarantee the desired or required accuracy of the measurement results. However, devices that are in operation should also be checked at regular intervals. Special emphasis is placed on the scale and zero point correction . The Geoinformation department of the Senate Department for Urban Development and Housing therefore provides a state calibration facility with which these two quality aspects of a measurement can be checked. A measuring station with a frequency testing facility is available at the Senate Administration to check the scale correction. The national calibration section was set up to check the zero point correction. It can be used by the land surveying offices of the State of Berlin, publicly appointed geodesists and other official and private bodies.

Location and structure

The Ernst-Ruska-Ufer runs in the affected area in a west-east direction parallel to the Teltow Canal . There is a green area north of the street. The measuring section begins a few meters west of Albert-Einstein-Strasse , which branches off to the northeast . From there it runs in an easterly direction to Havestadtplatz . The measuring section is 516 meters long and consists of a total of eight measuring pillars. This was arranged so that different sections between 17.50 m and 516.00 m can be addressed. The pillars reach about two meters deep into the ground; the use of reinforcing steel and additional insulation ensure - even when exposed to heat or cold - a sufficiently stable position in the ground. They are provided with suitable fits for stable fixation of the measuring devices . Adapter bolts and keys for opening the covers are available from the Senate Administration. According to the Senate Administration, the atmospheric conditions are “almost uniform” due to the open location.
