Schongau District Court

The Schongau Regional Court was an older Bavarian regional court that existed from 1803 to 1879 and was based in Schongau in what is now the Weilheim-Schongau district . In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 .

history

In 1803 the regional court of Schongau was established in the course of the administrative restructuring of Bavaria . This came to the newly founded Illerkreis with the capital Kempten . In 1817 the Isar Circle came into being .

On the basis of the edict of May 13, 1808, 36 tax districts were formed. The municipal edicts of 1808 and 1818 formed the municipalities on the basis of the tax districts. In 1818 there were 29 municipalities in the Schongau district court in addition to the city of Schongau: Altenstadt, Apfeldorf, Bayersoien, Birkland, Böbing, Buching, Epfach, Ettal, Frankau, Fronreiten, Hohenfurch, Hohenpeißenberg, Kinsau, Kohlgrub, Lauterbach, Mundraching, Oberammergau, Peiting , Prem, Reichling, Rottenbuch, Saulgrub, Schönberg, Schwabsoien, Schwangau, Stadl, Unterammergau, Urspring and Wildsteig.
