Praschnitz district
The district of Praschnitz ( Przasnysz in Polish ) existed in occupied Poland between 1939 and 1945 . On January 1, 1945, it comprised seven administrative districts with the corresponding number of cities and municipalities.
Administrative history
Poland
The Polish district of Przasnysz belonged to Poland at the beginning of the Second World War , namely to the Warszawa Voivodeship (= Warsaw).
German Empire
After the invasion of Poland , the county became the 26 October 1939 Przasnysz as part of the new government district Zichenau the province of East Prussia in order and international law the German Reich annexed.
On December 29, 1939, the Przasnysz district was renamed Praschnitz . This Germanized name was confirmed on May 21, 1941. The district office was in Praschnitz .
On July 1, 1943, parts of the Mielau military estate were reclassified from the Praschnitz district to the Mielau district .
In January 1945 the district was occupied by the Red Army and then became part of Poland again .

Local constitution
After the incorporation into the German Reich, all cities and municipalities were combined in administrative districts and were administered by official commissioners.
All districts and parts of office districts that belonged to the military training area "North" was dissolved on 1 July 1943 and the new Heeresgutsbezirk summarized Mielau. This extended over the districts of Mielau , Praschnitz and Zichenau . On the same day he was assigned in its entirety to the district of Mielau.
Place names
Due to an unpublished decree of December 29, 1939, the previous Polish place names continued to apply. It remained so until the end of the war, with the exception of the official renaming of Przasnysz to "Praschnitz". The renaming of all localities had already been prepared, but was no longer carried out.
