Landsbyggðarflokkurinn ( German : Provincial Party or literally party of the rural area ) was a small party in Iceland that the parliamentary election in 2013 with the party letters M took.
history
The party was founded on February 23, 2013. When it first ran for parliamentary elections on April 27, 2013 , the party received 0.17 percent of the vote and thus did not receive a seat in the national parliament Althing . The party has not appeared in the media since the beginning of 2014. She did not run for the general election in Iceland in 2016 .
program
In its program , the party advocated the following, among other things:
- Possibilities for the liberalization of agriculture are to be examined
- local autonomy is to be increased
- Environmentally friendly fishing should be promoted
- more direct democracy : major political decisions should generally be made in a referendum
