Egge conservation area
The Egge conservation area with an area of 539.72 ha is located in the area of the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The landscape protection area (LSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

In the northwest, the protected area borders directly on the Hagen-Süd motorway exit. The LSG borders directly on the A 45 in the west . Beyond the A 45 is the Asmecker Bachtal nature reserve . The LSG borders directly on the L 693 in the north in the west. Where north of the L 693 is the Hassley landscape protection area. In the north follows the nature reserve Lange Trees and Holthausen. Farthest north to east is the Hünenpforte nature reserve . In the east the nature reserve Raffenberg and Hohenlimburg borders on the LSG, in the south the nature reserve Stoppelberg . The nature reserve Holthauser Bachtal lies like an island in the LSG.
In the LSG there are large forest areas with the mountains Franzosenschanze , Piepenbrink and Egge.
Protection purpose
According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to maintain and restore the efficiency of the natural balance, in particular by securing naturally developed habitats, because of the diversity, uniqueness and beauty of the landscape, in particular because of the peculiarities of a dry valley caused by the mass limestone chain with swallow holes and other karst phenomena and because of its special importance as a forest recreation area and because of its particular importance for recreation in rural areas ”.
