The conservation area Rosengarten-Kiekeberg-Stuvenwald extends over the Harburg mountains of Neu Wulmstorf and the border to Hamburg in the north to Buchholz in der Nordheide in the district of Harburg, in Lower Saxony . It is located in the municipalities of Neu Wulmstorf, Wenzendorf , Rosengarten and Seevetal , the joint municipality of Hollenstedt , and in the town of Buchholz in the north heath.
With its first designation in 1965, the LSG is one of the oldest protected areas in the district. A centrally located area of particular importance was designated as NSG beech forests in the rose garden .
At the southern end, the LSG has been crossed by the North European Natural Gas Pipeline (NEL) since 2011 .
The district of Harburg announced in May 2019 that it wanted to redesign the existing landscape protection area in order to adapt the contents of the ordinance to applicable law and also to adapt the protected area boundaries to actual circumstances. This will reduce the protected area.
